Hope this finds everyone well. Peter and I are looking forward to the open water season and are ready for winter to end.
April was a busy and productive month.
We started on April 5th with the first Northwoods Muskies, Inc Swap Meet. We have received a lot of positive feedback and many are looking forward to next year. We had 24 registered tables (vendors) and approximately 125 attendees. Thank you to both of our speakers and volunteers who helped make this event a success.
April 8th was our monthly meeting. The board reviewed past events. The Awards Banquet held on March 8th was well attended. I think we had our best attendance in years. 65 people came. Nate Osfar gave an excellent talk, we had our first Youth Award winner, Blair Lazar, women’s division winner, Christina Truppe, men’s division winner was Mirrel Kephart, and the big fish winner was Cal Jenkins. The Kids Ice fishing event on February 22nd was well attended. Thanks to Jeff Kinnally for Chairing this event. Jim Cheshire, Jeff Kinnally and Landy Roepke manned the NMI Booth at the Watersmeet Muskie Expo. A new member was signed up as a result of their efforts. Peter, Karen with Landy and Chris Roepke attended the Headwaters Banquet on April 12th.

- May 13th Monthly Meeting, 6:30 at Sayner Pub. Our speaker will be Jeff Lang, author of Musky Metrics. It should be a good evening.
- June 10th is the first of our Summer Kid Fishing events. 5- 7 at the Minocqua fishing pier.
We will have three of these events throughout the summer. Please commit to helping at one of these events. Adult helpers are needed based on the popularity of this event. Bait and Rods are provided for kids who do not have their own. We need volunteers to help the kids bait their hooks, remove their fish and coach them as needed. It is a rewarding evening. The remaining dates are: July 8th and August 5th. If you want more information, please contact Jeff Kinnally. Those dates are: June 24th, (fish any lake and meet at the Hazelhurst Pub after for fellowship. Entry in the big fish pot is $10.00. July 29, meet at Black Bear on 70 West; August 26, meet at Rustic Road House and Sept.11th meet at Gooches. Looking forward to seeing you there.
- July 19th, Musky Bash at Rollie and Helen’s Musky Shop. Need volunteers to man our booth. Please contact Jim Cheshire at j.chesh64@gmail.com to schedule a time to help. One hour of your time will be appreciated.

- October 11th, Headwaters/Northwoods Challunge. We are the host this year and defending champions. More information will be coming.
