Northwoods Chapter Challunge Event Summary

The fifth annual Northwaters Chapter Challunge held with the Headwaters Chapter from Eagle River was another successful event. It was the Headwater chapter’s turn to host the 2018 challunge and the Sayner Pub graciously agreed to provide the venue. We would like to thank the folks at the Sayner Pub for their hospitality and delicious pizza, salad, cake and coffee.

The event was held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 and participants were allowed to fish any lake with a public boat landing. The Headwater Chapter had thirteen members participate on three teams. There were ten members from the Northwoods Chapter comprising two teams. A total of ten fish were caught and released with both chapters having success. Jay Hollnagel of the Headwaters Team # 3 won the big fish pot with a 48-inch muskie caught on a sucker. Headwaters Team #2 won the event with four muskies registered. The coveted pink trophy fish will be held by the Headwaters chapter until the event next year.

Our chapter is looking forward to hosting the Chapter Challunge in 2019 and hope as many of you as possible can participate!
