Northwoods Muskies Inc is based in Minocqua, Wisconsin. Chapter 61 membership of Muskies Inc. is dedicated to advancing conservation through youth outreach, improving fisheries and promoting scientific research in northern Wisconsin. Northwoods Muskies Inc. supports the fisheries of Vilas and Oneida Counties, youth fishing programs, as well as social and educational initiatives throughout the calendar year.

Our chapter promotes a high quality muskellunge fishery, improved regulations, conservation practices and fisheries management, and promotes good fellowship and sportsmanship among youth and adults.
Our chapter membership is open to muskie & walleye enthusiasts throughout Northern Wisconsin and beyond. Although muskies are our main focus, The Northwoods Muskies Inc. collaborates with the Wisconsin DNR, other fishing organizations, and local lake associations to help fund and introduce “Extended Growth” muskie and walleye stocking programs in area lakes.
Throughout the year we host a handful of scheduled meetings, located on and off the water. We also help coordinate and participate in Muskies Inc. events.
As you can see, we have plenty of opportunities for your involvement. Whether you are an active participant, a financial contributor or both, we are pleased to have your consideration for membership in the new Northwoods Chapter and ask you to remember to “Make it a Northwoods Muskie”.
Founded in 2012, The Northwoods Muskies (Chapter 61) is dedicated to advancing conservation through youth outreach, improving fisheries, and promoting scientific research.
We exist to further the purposes of Muskies, Inc. which are to:
- Support selected conservation practices based on scientific merit as carried out by authorized Federal and state agencies;
- Promote muskellunge research, establishment of hatcheries and introduction of the species into suitable waters;
- Support the abatement of water pollution;
- Provide a library facility for scientific and popular muskellunge literature, and to maintain records of habits, growth and range of the species; and
- Disseminate muskellunge information and, as an insubstantial part of our activities,
- Promote a high-quality muskellunge sport fishery.
