WOW! The 1st annual Ice Fishing Tournament was a huge success. We had 203 participants on a cold and blustery January 18th. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped make it happen.
First and foremost, a BIG thank you to Jim Lund for chairing this event. Jim went above and beyond contacting local businesses for prize donations. It truly became a community event. We also had many others who helped put everything together, Bob Ulrich, Jolene Fink, Dave Levihn, John Vacula, Jackie Waldorf, Jim Cheshire, and a few non member volunteers Bob Ozelle, Bruce Kilsdonk and Larry Chamberlain. Now moving on to upcoming events
- Tuesday, February 4th will be a board meeting beginning at 6pm at Heart II in Woodruff.
Anyone may attend. - Next general meeting is at Fibbers on February 11th. Gather at 6pm meeting to start at 7pm. Our guest speaker is Eric Wegleitner, DNR Fisheries Biologist for Vilas County.
- March 8th is the date for our annual winter awards banquet. Come to Whitetail Inn for an evening of fun and friendship. Cocktail hour/registration 5:00 pm, dinner served at 6:00 pm speaker at 7:00 pm. Our guest speaker this year is Nate Osfar. Nate is a multi-muskie tournament champion. Registration forms for the banquet are being mailed this week. Please contact Karen Stoltman if you do not receive a form in the mail. I will make sure we have your correct mailing address.
We are working on a Lure Swap to be held in either April or May. If you are interested in helping with this event please come to the board meeting or contact Pete Stoltman. More details will be forthcoming.
